Mercedes recalls several electric EQC SUVs, fault at a faulty bolt

Only a few months after its commercialization, the Mercedes EQC Electric is being recalled due to an anomaly identified on a bolt of the front differential.

It's going away and it's coming back. Introduced this summer in France, the imposing Mercedes electric SUV, the EQC, already meets some difficulties. The one that was the subject of an official introduction at the 2018 Paris Motor Show was indeed recalled by the German manufacturer, we learn in a Reuters press release.

Sustainability standards not met

The latter thus evokes an anomaly identified on a "  front differential bolt  ", which does not "  respect the standards of sustainability  ", is it written. In other words, the defective bolt is likely to break during its lifetime, which "would interrupt transmission of torque to the front axle  ".

Worse, a "  risk of dropping out  " would not be excluded either, according to Reuters, which specifies the number of electrified vehicles concerned by this recall: 1,700. In contrast, Daimler, parent company of Mercedes, s' is denied any comment on the number of cars specifically affected.

More than 400 horses

As a reminder, the EQC is equipped with a battery of 80 kWh giving it a range of 375 kilometers, supported by a 408 horsepower engine allowing it to climb to 100 km / h in the space of 5.1 seconds. Not to mention a top speed of 180 km / h, all for a very expensive price of 78,950 euros, without option.
