Herman Hulst (Guerrilla Games) Leads Worldwide PlayStation Studios

Hermen Hulst Sony

At the dawn of the launch of the PlayStation 5, the organizational chart of Sony Interactive Entertainment has just been touched by yet another upheaval.
Indeed, the charismatic Shuhei Yoshida gives up her position as president of the domestic studios of the Japanese brand to Hermen Hulst.

To prepare for the launch of the next generation in late 2020, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) reorganized several of its divisions. In 2018, Jim Ryan replaced Andrew House at the head of PlayStation. This year, Shawn Layden left the company, followed by Gio Corsi this week. This game of musical chairs is obviously not close to stopping.

It keeps moving to Sony!

In a statement, SIE announced the arrival of a certain Hermen Hulst at the head of Worldwide Studios. He replaces Shuhei Yoshida today. The latter is now leading a new initiative to develop strong relationships between the Japanese brand and independent creators. Sony will continue to support low-budget productions.

As for Hermen Hulst, he is leaving his position as president of the Guerrilla Games studio (known for the Killzone and Horizon Zero Dawn sagas ). This change is due to restructuring to prepare the arrival of the PlayStation 5. It remains to be seen whether these changes will allow Sony to continue the dynamics initiated by the PS4 since 2013.
