With this new revision of models and prices, the American manufacturer of electric vehicles and its emblematic boss, Elon Musk, still, intend to increase sales for the third quarter of 2019 while the second has already allowed them to break records.
More standard versions for Model S and X
Announced today, this new modification of the catalog of models aims to harmonize and simplify Tesla's electric vehicle offering, which, despite the presence of only three models, struggled to make its catalog fully understandable.
For starters, Tesla said the standard versions for its Model S and X would simply disappear from the catalog, resulting in a rise in the starting price of both vehicles. The latter will increase to $ 79,990 and $ 84,990, respectively, since they will now only be sold in the " Grand autonomy " and " Performance " versions.
However, this price increase allows the automaker to integrate the "Ludicrous" mode with the " Performance " version of the Model S and X, an option that was previously billed more than $ 10,000.
In a statement, the US manufacturer explains and justifies this change: " To make the purchase of our vehicles even easier, we are standardizing our range of vehicles and rationalize the number of finishing modules proposed for models S, X and 3".
The price of Model 3 revised downward
The Model 3, its least expensive vehicle and by far the most popular, retains all three variants but sees the price of its "Standard Plus" be lowered for a starting price of $ 38,990. The group explains this adjustment to " continue to improve affordability for clients ".
After a record second quarter in 2019, Tesla expects to further increase its production and vehicle deliveries in the coming months. This revision of the catalog and prices will therefore not be insignificant to boost sales a little more.
