Nvidia Shield could "soon" benefit from Android 9 Pie

Spotted on the Google Play Console, and listed among devices compatible with Android 9.0 Pie, the NVIDIA Shield TV could soon receive its sesame to the ninth iteration of the operating system Google. The good news in perspective ... But beware, nothing is officially confirmed yet. 

If NVIDIA hangs a bit on the release of the latest versions of Android, the manufacturer is no less serious in this follow-up. The Shield TV advantage and in June 2018, his ticket to Android 8.0 Oreo. Almost a year later, the migration of the device to Android 9.0 Pie seems to be confirmed gradually. However, we should be patient.

The NVIDIA Shield TV 2017 is going to host Android 9.0 Pie?

According to Neowin, the NVIDIA Shield TV 2017 has been listed among devices that support Android 9.0 Pie. Credible information in that it does not mention the NVIDIA Shield TV 2015, the original model that would not benefit from a said update. 

As stated in the Anglo-Saxon media, this appearance of Shield TV 2017 on the Google Play Console does not tell us the extent of deployment of this new version of the software. It could also happen that it does not materialize at all ... Even if it would have the effect of raising an eyebrow.

NVIDIA would work on a new TV Shield

Recall, however, that recent reports point to the upcoming arrival of a new Shield TV, on which NVIDIA is currently at work.

 The latter would just ship Android 9.0 Pie upon its release and arm itself with a new generation chipset, more efficient from an energy point of view and especially faster (an increase in GPU frequencies is evoked).
