Mega Drive Mini postponed to October in Europe

Mega Drive Mini postponed to October in Europe

SEGA reports the release of the Mega Drive Mini in Europe and the Middle East. Players will have to wait until October 2019 to get the retro console. The Japanese company has not indicated the precise reasons for this additional delay, but calls into question " unavoidable logistical challenges ".

The SEGA Mega Drive Mini announced for September 19, 2019, will finally be released two weeks later in Europe and the Middle East.

Launch postponed to October 4, 2019

The retro console, announced at the SEGA Fes 2018, is postponed again. In fact, in September 2018, the Japanese publisher had already postponed the release to 2019. Via its official European Twitter account, SEGA postponed the launch date to 4 October 2019.

This new deadline affects only the Europe and Middle East regions. Thus, the SEGA Mega Drive Mini will be available everywhere else, from September 19, 2019, priced at $ 79.99 and preloaded with 42 retro games: 40 classic titles and 2 bonus titles.

As the announcement on Twitter indicates, this "selective" postponement would be linked to " unavoidable logistical challenges ".
