80,000 Fiat 500 electric will be produced from the second quarter of 2020.
The first robot has been installed in the new production line
The company's director told Reuters that a first robot had been set up in the new production line in Turin, Italy. The goal is to produce 80,000 vehicles per year by 2020, but thanks to part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' five billion euro investment plan, this production capacity could be revised upwards.
The Fiat 500 BEV, or electric, was announced a year ago, and it will wait another year for its marketing.
On the occasion of the production of these cars, FCA announced partnerships with ENEL X and ENGIE: their common goal is to offer charging solutions for Fiat 500 BEV and Jeep Renegade PHEV electric cars in Europe.
