Xbox Console Streaming: Xbox One Games Now Available on Android (US)

While we're waiting for more details on xCloud, Microsoft is launching the Xbox Console Streaming feature for Xbox One owners. The first step for video game streaming on mobile.

Microsoft has launched its Xbox Console Streaming service in the United States and the United Kingdom, which allows you to play Xbox One games on your smartphone. A response to the Remote Play that Sony offers with the PS4.

For now, only users who participate in the Xbox Insider program have access to this new feature. It must also be equipped with an Android mobile (6.0 Marshmallow minimum with Bluetooth 4.0), compatibility with the iPhone is not available at the moment. Players must download and install the Xbox Game Streaming application on the Play Store (not yet available in France) to enjoy the platform. Since this is streaming, a good internet connection is required to play in optimal conditions.

All games are compatible as long as they are enabled in your library and installed on the console. This includes, of course, the games purchased, but also the titles of Xbox Game Pass. Note that Xbox and Xbox 360 games are not supported. Then you need an Xbox controller to connect to the phone to play.

xCloud also arrives

And just recently, we reported that Microsoft launched a line of official accessories dedicated to stream gaming. The first commercial device is the MOGA Mobile Gaming Clip, which is attached to an Xbox controller and serves as a support for the smartphone. Handy to play the controller on the screen of his mobile, and for a decent price: $ 14.99. The Redmond company also plans to release a variety of accessories for the practice of mobile gaming streaming.


Xbox Console Streaming is totally free and will, in the weeks and months to come, spread to other countries. It is the power of its Xbox One that is used with this service. With xCloud, which is expected news (technical details, price of the subscription ...) at the X019 to be held in London from 14 to 16 November 2019, players can stream their games on mobile without console: these are the Microsoft servers that will be at work.
