Despite the many pieces of information that have been available for several months, it's still unclear what Hongmeng, the operating system currently under development at Huawei, will look like.
Huawei's proprietary system could be introduced as early as this week
A few weeks ago, we learned that this OS would be considered first for connected objects designed by the brand and not for smartphones.
Finally, according to reports from the Chinese daily Global Times, Huawei would also be working on phones equipped with Hongmeng. And development would be more advanced than one could imagine.
The Chinese manufacturer could present its operating system this week at its conference dedicated to developers, which is held in Dongguan from August 9 to 11.
An entry-level smartphone to launch Hongmeng
Huawei would also be in the midst of testing new smartphones that would be equipped with this proprietary OS. The first model to land in the stores could appear at the end of this year. It would be an entry-level model, at a price below 300 euros, which would be unveiled at the same time as the Mate 30.
If Huawei has been working on a "Plan B" for several years, in case it can no longer use Android, work has intensified since Trump's decision to ban US companies from selling him products and services.
Huawei must quickly find an alternative to Android that could go through Hongmeng in the future, except in the event of a U-turn.
