The Apple Card will not accept cryptocurrency transactions

The Apple Card will not accept cryptocurrency transactions

If Apple has not yet unveiled all the details of the launch of its banking offer, Goldman Sachs has already published the terms and conditions of Apple Card: cryptocurrency, like iPhone "  jailbroken  " (or "unlocked"), will not be compatible with the service.

In just a few days, American Apple fans will be able to subscribe to Apple Card the credit card launched by the brand in association with Goldman Sachs, and the bank account associated with it. The solution will be fully integrated with the iPhone, obviously compatible with Apple Pay, and will offer a dedicated interface to better manage its expenses and view its balance.

Cryptocurrencies are not allowed by Apple

If Tim Cook has confirmed availability during the month of August, without giving a specific date, the bank Goldman Sachs, partner of Apple for this service, has already published its terms of use on its website.

We are already learning that bitcoin and other cryptocurrency holders will not be able to use these with their Apple Card account. Goldman Sachs will only accept traditional currencies. Fans of dematerialized currencies will not be able to buy them from their accounts.

The bank also states that Apple Card will not allow buying lottery tickets or casino chips. If the practice is surprising on our side of the Atlantic, we find similar measures in many banks in the United States.

iPhone "  jailbroken  " are also banned from Apple Card

Goldman Sachs also states that unlocked devices will not be able to subscribe to the Apple Card offer. They will automatically be denied the use of the credit card if it has been previously registered in the smartphone.

If this ban can be due to the fact that Apple forbids the "  jailbreak  " of its devices, we also imagine that an unlocked device may create a risk for the security of banking information stored on the phone.

Finally, the contract indicates that a single Apple ID may be associated with an Apple Card, which prevents the fact of sharing a single means of payment, for example, a couple. Each member of the household must, therefore, have his own Apple Card, which will please Tim Cook, determined to turn Apple into a true service company.
