A new successful launch for Ariane 5

It's a successful launch for Ariane 5! The rocket took off from the Kourou Space Center in French Guiana on Tuesday, August 6th.

After an incident with its European rocket Vega last July, the launch of two satellites is now a great success for Arianespace.

Two satellites successfully put into orbit by Arianespace

Last Tuesday, Arianespace took off its Ariane 5 rocket from Guyana. His mission? Orbit two telecommunication satellites for service provider Intelsat, Airbus, and the European Space Agency. For the first satellite, Intelsat 39, the name of the company, Arianespace mentions in its release an estimated lifetime of 15 years.

His goal? Enable broadband network operators, government customers and video providers to offer their services in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Indian Ocean, and the Middle East. Intelsat 39 will be equipped with a network named Space Data Highway, described as "an optical fiber network of space". In all, there are nearly 105 Ariane 5 launches that have taken place since Guyana.

The 51-meter and 775-tonne European launcher put the two satellites into orbit in 33 minutes and 31 seconds at a speed of 11,000 km /h.
