The ecological defense council announces an eco-tax ranging from € 1.50 to € 18 per air ticket from France, from 2020.
The tax was announced by the Minister of Transport and will concern flights from France.
An eco-tax that will vary depending on your destination and your ticket class
This new measure is one of the results of the Ecological Defense Council that took place on Tuesday.
As Élisabeth Borne has announced, this eco-tax will apply to all flights departing from France, except those taking off to Corsica, Overseas and connecting flights.
The amount of the eco-tax will vary depending on your destination and the category of your ticket.
Thus, on domestic flights and those connecting a European destination, the amount will be € 1.5 in economy class and € 9 in business class.
To visit the rest of the world, you will have to pay€ 3 per ticket in economy class and € 18 if you are traveling in business class.
In total, this measure should yield no less than 182 million euros from the launch year. The amounts collected will then be dedicated to the construction of greener transport infrastructure.
