Stadia: dematerialized games will not be cheaper, according to Phil Harrison

Google stadia

Google has recently introduced Stadia, it is a streaming video game platform. A logical step in the dematerialization whereas some circles already propose alternatives of the kind. Netflix for movies and series, Spotify for music, for example.

It was during an interview that Phil Harrison, who runs the Stadia branch of Google, returned to the price of the games that will be offered in streaming. Games that would have the same cost as the physical versions.

Games as expensive on Stadia as in physics?

The promise of cheaper games through dematerialization was enough to bait the future users of Stadia. Yet, in an interview, Phil Harrison said, "  I do not see why it would be cheaper  ." A statement that will have to cringe those who hoped to save money by avoiding the physical support and costs incurred by the latter.

To justify this statement, the man at the head of Google Stadia said the advantage of the service is to play everywhere games purchased streaming. Whether it's a smartphone, a PC or a tablet.

It should not be forgotten that Stadia is already applying for a subscriptionSuffice to say that adding the price of a game could put off more than one, especially if it is posted full pot! Not to mention that a digital game does not really belong to its buyers.
