New references have been identified during a registration application filed in Russia. These devices would be a new entry-level iPad, which would offer a new screen size.
The iPad 6 would be living its last hours. The MySmartPrice site has spotted five new references (A2068, A2198, A2230, A2197, and A222) filed by Apple in Russia with the Eurasian Economic Commission.
A new entry-level iPad on the screen slightly larger
These mysterious devices would indeed be the new iPad that would replace the entry-level Apple for its tablet touch. As proof, the manufacturer indicates in his notes that the machines turn on iOS 13 (and more specifically iPadOS ), which augurs a launch in September alongside the new iPhone and the next Apple Watch.
Such a date would make sense, this presentation of the month of September being intended for the general public to whom this iPad addresses itself, but Apple could also reserve them an event dedicated to the month of October.
Some minor improvements to keep an attractive price
These next tablets should, after several years of status quo, propose new especially on the design side. Apple would barter its venerable 9.7-inch diagonal screen against 10.2-inch slabs, which would bring it closer to the latest iPad Air launched just a few weeks ago.
We can also imagine finer borders and some additional refinements, but no frank changes to maintain a call price close to € 300.
IPad Pro could also benefit from a lighter refresh, with improved processors, equivalent to those who find their place in the future iPhone.
