Facebook Signs VR Exclusives for Oculus: Assassin's Creed Leads

On a small cloud thanks to an Oculus Quest that sells like hotcakes, Facebook has just signed a juicy exclusive partnership with Ubisoft. 

The virtual reality versions of Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell licenses, which have disappeared from the radar since 2013, are included in this agreement.

According to The Information sources, Mark Zuckerberg and Jason Rubin, respectively CEO and Vice President of Facebook's gaming division are directly involved in this initiative to develop the Oculus exclusive games catalog. 

In fact, the thing would already be recorded to believe the American media that relays the case. But despite the popularity of the two licenses covered by this deal, the deal could be worth less than $ 1 million. 

Contacted by The Information, neither Ubisoft nor Oculus wanted to react to what is for the moment only a rumor. The latter nevertheless replied that  ".


Many upcoming Oculus exclusives


Even though the very concept of exclusivity is regularly questioned for home consoles and more recently on PC via the Epic Games Store, Oculus is not afraid to put both feet in it. 

In addition to this partnership that will see perhaps the catalog of Oculus Rift and Quest to be filled with two ultra-popular licenses, Oculus announced in 2016 to agree a budget of nearly 500 million dollars for content. For now, this money has seen the birth of exclusives like Star Wars Vader Immortal, Robo Recall and MARVEL Powers United VR. 

In the coming months, the open-world Stormland, Asgard's Wrath and Lone Echo II should also join the Oculus exclusives catalog.
