Blizzard: Franck Pierce, co-founder of the studio, sets sail

Franck Pierce announces his departure from Blizzard Entertainment, a video game studio he co-founded almost 30 years ago. If he does not give the precise reasons for his departure, he seems to want to devote himself to his personal life. 

In his message posted on July 19 on the site of Blizzard, Franck Piercethanked the employees of the studio, without mentioning massive layoffs that took place in France and elsewhere.

Franck Pierce leaves Blizzard after 28 years

Almost 30 years ago, Franck Pierce co-founded Blizzard Entertainment(formerly Silicon & Synapse ) with his friends Allen Adham and Michael Morhaime. Together, they made history in the video game with the Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, and of course the Overwatch and World of Warcraft titles. 

While Mike Morhaime left his position as CEO of Blizzard at the end of 2018, it is now Franck Pierce's turn to announce the sails. He does not give the exact reasons for his departure but ensures that his career in the studio was only passion. He now seems to want to devote oneself to one's personal life. 

"  Now it's time for me to think about what's next. I plan to spend more time doing outdoor physical activity. I would like to learn to play an instrument. I hope to devote more time to aspects of my life that may not have received so much attention in the past. "
