AirPods resistant to water? This would be planned for the third (and next) generation

Apple could launch by the end of this year a new version of its wireless headphones. This new version would be thought for athletes with water resistance and a specific design. 

While Apple's sales have been turbulent in recent months, AirPods are still a safe bet in the manufacturer's lineup. Since its launch in 2016, its success has not faded and Apple has sold 24 million pairs in 2018 alone, according to analysts research firm Juniper.

AirPods 3 designed for athletes

After launching a minor revision last March, bringing a little more autonomy and improved connectivity, Apple would have in its box a brand new version of its AirPods. 

The headphones would be geared towards sportsmen and would offer a waterproofness that would make them resistant to rain or sweat, for long-running sessions. These AirPods 3 could also have an improved design, perhaps for a better fit in the ears, running or hiking.

A product turned more towards health and well-being

Some information also suggests that Apple will integrate several sensors that could obtain a lot of data on the physical state of the user. The Californian manufacturer invests a lot in the field of well-being and health, so we can quite consider AirPods connected to the Apple Watch that would give additional information on the physical conditions of their wearer, in full effort. 

These AirPods would be available at the end of 2019. Apple could present them next September, on the occasion of the presentation of the new iPhone and Apple Watch.
