While it's already available on PC, Halo Beta: Reach has some trouble pointing the tip on Xbox One.
In a blog post, the 343 Industries team says it faces large-scale engine problems. The result is an undetermined delay for Halo's first beta: Reach on Xbox One.
The game engine poses memory problems
The developers say they are using the Unreal Engine 4 to develop a system for character customization and progression. New features that, according to 343 Industries, push Xbox One to its limits in terms of memory.
" Designing a game is difficult, especially when we have to deal with 11 different game engines and 7 complete games under the umbrella of a single title that shares all the hardware resources of a console, " says 343 Industries... And to point out that, adding progress and customization systems to Halo: Reach requiring the help of a twelfth engine, the memory available on the Xbox One is simply outdated.
" Until the team has found a solution to solve this problem, the beta Xbox One ( Halo: Reach, ed) will be postponed ." 343 Industries nevertheless works hard to solve this obstacle.
