Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will support cross-play on all platforms as soon as it is released

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Infinity Ward has delivered yesterday a series of revelations about the reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, expected on October 25th.

During a stream where we learned in particular that a public beta phase will take place in September (first on PS4, then on Xbox One and PC), the developers announced that cross-play will be de rigueur on all platforms from the launch of the game.

The first AAA to support the crossplay

The decision of Infinity Ward and, by extension, Activision - Blizzard is far from innocuous. In an industry still fiercely attached to the concept of exclusivity, being able to play with other players from different consoles is still rare.

Recently, the road has begun to be paved by the popular Rocket League and Fortnite, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the first-ever triple-A title to feature such a feature from its launch.

A step to salute, especially since it should not affect the comfort of play. Infinity Ward has indeed announced that the players would be divided into two groups (with the controller, or keyboard/mouse) so as not to unbalance the parties.
