Falling from its pedestal as fast as it climbed, Apex Legends must reinvent itself to win back the hearts of its players. That's what Respawn Entertainment promises for the second season of its Battle Royale.
In a long post published on the Electronic Arts blog, Lee Horn, chief product manager on Apex Legends acknowledges the many frictions caused by season one, and promises a season two more " rewarding ".
More rewards, fewer headaches
The main criticism of season one is the progression system, which is almost entirely based on the grind - in other words, playing a lot, a long time, and in a repetitive way.
Also, a size change is going to be put in place with this season two. Lee Horn announces that daily and weekly challenges will emerge, allowing players to progress through the Battle Pass " through short gaming sessions " and obtaining Stars, a new way to gain experience...
All this being of course in the service of one thing only: the loot, that Respawns also promises more substantial and tangible than in the first season. Exit follow-ups statistics unenthusiastic, the benefit - it is hoped - more exclusive skins.
Season 2 of Apex Legends will be launched tomorrow, Tuesday, July 2 on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
