Developed by Respawn, Apex Legends is arguably one of the most popular games of recent months. Released by surprise and available for free, this mix between an Overwatch and the Battle Royale mode is a hit among millions of players.
But among these players are unfortunately cheaters who taint the experience of the most honest. Respawn has therefore decided to fight against this phenomenon in a radical way, supported by artificial intelligence.
Cheats will face cheats
The method to punish cheaters is simple. Respawn has put in place an artificial intelligence that can detect which players use software to give themselves a little help. The latter will, therefore, face other cheaters: what discourage them to start again.
And for good reason, what's worse for a cheater than face another cheater, making the party even more unpleasant? But that's not all. Respawn says that its artificial intelligence will be able to detect players associating with those who use software to win. A way for developers to punish accomplices participating in a tainted experience.
An intensive fight against cheating
It was last February that EA announced the ban of 16,000 players. Players can be reported to teams in case of suspicion of cheating. To do this, simply log on to the EA website and fill out a form. Then you will be asked for the name of the suspect player and the approximate time of the game so that teams can analyze it and confirm or not cheating.
Note that in May, Respawn announced this time on Reddit the ban of 770,000 accounts. A figure that has exploded compared to February. 4,000 profiles marketing cheats were also removed by the teams. Respawn had also announced to take cheating very seriously in Apex Legends.
Ultimately, Apex Legends would use its artificial intelligence to immediately ban cheaters, if not to oppose them in fun-free games!
