Commercialized at the end of 2019, the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid will she walk in the footsteps of her thermal cousin, the undeniable success? In the meantime, here is a small presentation of the future SUV of the lion brand.
The success of the 3008 he gave ideas to Peugeot? Probably. The Sochalian firm has indeed decided to decline its flagship SUV in a rechargeable hybrid version, and took advantage of the Paris Motor Show, in 2018, to present its new product for the very first time. The latter is now expected for the end of the 2019 vintage. An overview of this four-wheel-drive that will benefit from a classic Hybrid version (two-wheel drive, 225 horsepower) and a Hybrid4 version (four-wheel drive, 300 horsepower).
Exterior design
Unsurprisingly, the plug-in hybrid model incorporates the design of its thermal counterpart. Nothing, or almost nothing, has been changed: we do not change a formula that wins. For example, the hybrid and HYBRID 4ibadges, which adorn the vehicle, are new, as is the charging hatch on the left rear fender. Once the 100% electric mode is activated, a cyan-colored exterior LED is activated at the top of the windshield. And that's about it.
Interior design
Inside, the same observation. The Peugeot i-Cockpit as an instrument cluster, however, displays some electrical data, such as range and power meter, which indicates the energy use, as well as the driving mode in use. (Electric, Sport, Hybrid or 4WD ).
At his side, to support him, there is a touch screen of 10 inches, which is particularly indicated the location of charging stations, the remaining battery life or consumption statistics (electric and fuel). Also on the program: the activation of the e-Save function, which " allows the driver to provide a reserve of electrical energy to use when he wants during his journey, " can be read on the product sheet.
Power and autonomy
With each version, its power: the classic Hybrid is equipped with a 1.6 Puretech engine (180 horsepower) combined with a 110 HP front electric motor, all for a power of 225 horses. The Hybrid4 is equipped with a 1.6 Puretech engine (200 horsepower), coupled with two electric motors - one at the front, the other at the rear - for a total power of 300 horses. Not to mention, for both models, an eight-speed automatic gearbox (e-EAT8).
The battery of the first will allow him also to travel up to 40 kilometers in electric, against 52 kilometers for the second, still according to the official website. The top speed in zero-emission mode reaches the 135 km / h but climbs to 240 km / h by switching to the thermal. Add to that a regenerative braking.
Three charging modes will be available to users: a standard socket (8A, 220V), allowing a charge in seven hours of time, a reinforced Greenup type socket (14A, 220V) for four hours of time and a Wallbox charger 7.4 kW, to find 100% autonomy in 1 hour 45 minutes.
connectivity
Peugeot does not hesitate to highlight its MyPeugeot mobile application, on which the driver can access a series of useful information such as the remaining range of his vehicle, the progress and state of charge or the statistics of consumption. Remotely configure the air conditioning or heating is also part of the proposed features.
Price and availability
The Peugeot 3008 Hybrid will hit the market by the end of 2019. Several versions will make up the offer: a single GT for the Hybrid4 (53,800 euros), and an Allure (43,800 euros), GT Line (45,900 euros) and GT (48,300 euros) for the classic Hybrid.
