Nintendo is back on the assault of our smartphones and tablets this July with Dr. Mario World. This app will be released very soon and will offer from its launch a multiplayer dimension that comes to us via an explanatory video.
Basically, Dr. Mario is a Tetris-like released on NES and Game Boy in 1990. Nintendo has decided to resurrect this license via a free-to-play for mobile media. The title will resume its formula of always since the player will have to align viruses and capsules in order to make them disappear. These elements will have to be associated horizontally and vertically in the same way as a Tetris.
No time to bask the pill
In Dr. Mario World, the progression will be similar to that of a Candy Crush because it will complete levels by moving on a map while spending energy. The multiplayer mode will also be required since a user can link his Facebook and Line accounts in order to find his friends. It will then be possible to consult their progress, but also to send them hearts (which represent the energy).
That's not all because a competitive mode will also be on the agenda. These "Battles" will take place in real time. The goal will be to associate elements to destroy viruses, which will result in filling a gauge of attack. Once full, the player can use it to sabotage his opponent by sending him a maximum of viruses. Powers of speed and defense can also be activated.
The video at the top of this article perfectly illustrates this multimode. Dr. Mario World will be available for free on iOS and Android on July 10, 2019.
